(11/15/07). The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has recently published the 2008 Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) grant program guidance. Click on the links below to view and print guidance documents:

Also, for more information please go to FEMA's PDM website at:
http://www.fema.gov/government/grant/pdm/fy2008.shtm. In order to develop an application, prospective grant applicants must be registered users of FEMA's web based E-Grants system. New users must complete the E-Grant Authorization Form (link above) and submit it to Ohio EMA for processing. All 2008 PDM sub-applications must be submitted via FEMA's electronic grant (E-Grant) management system by the applicant.

All PDM sub-applications will be due to OEMA no later than 5:00 PM January 14, 2008. At that time, OEMA staff will review the sub-applications and will work with applicants to fine tune their submissions. Applicants must be available to coordinate with OEMA staff for the period between January 15th and January 31st. Final submittals will be then forwarded by OEMA to FEMA on January 31, 2008.

Applicants must coordinate with their county EMA Director to review the county's or communities all hazard mitigation plan. It is a program requirement that the proposed project meet a goal, objective, or action in the plan.
